Here are a few Storm Trooper photos from our recent open evenings. Each Storm Trooper had an assistant to help them walk around as visibility in the costume was pretty poor. Maybe they hadn't learnt how to use the Force....

Congratulations to Mr Sealey for winning a signed rugby shirt and ball from the incredible Exeter Chiefs. Mr Sealey entered the draw as part of our recent open day which took place on the 20th October. He is pictured below receiving his prizes from the Exeter Store's senior assistant manager, Dan Grout.

Dorchester celebrated its recent event day with a fantastic prize draw. Congratulations goes to Mr. Cockram from Sherborne, Dorset. He won a DMPBD75 and is shown receiving his prize from the store manager James Tyler.

The photograph below shows the brothers being handed their brand new Panasonic 42 inch 3D television by Exeter Chiefs Head Coach Rob Baxter with Pana Stores (SW) Limited General Manager (sales) Patric Stapleton and General Manager (service) Richard Murrell.

The presentation was before the final match of the season at Sandy Park where 10,500 people saw Exeter Chiefs beat London Wasps 21 – 8 to finish 8th in the Premiership.
Tim Williams (Assistant Manager) & Elliott Newton (3D Expert) of the Salisbury store, visited the Wimbourne Video and Cine club to introduce the club to 3d Technology and 3D camcorders.
The event was enjoyed by all. It consisted of a brief Introduction of Panasonic camcorder range, followed by a hands on experience of camcorders, stills camera and Televisions. The members of the club seemed to have enjoyed the Evening and were extremely interested and expressed an opinion that it was an impressive technology.
Our team goes from strength to strength as is demonstrated at the recent 'Simply the Best' event in Exeter. Here the general managers and branch managers line up for a photo opportunity whilst prompting the launch of the new Panasonic 3D television range.

Congratulations to great friends of the Panasonic Store Salisbury for completing a truly incredible feat. It all started during a long discussion on Cadet Summer Camp; they purchased a DMC FT2 one of our rugged cameras from the Salisbury store. The Wiltshire ACF organised the event, climbing to base camp of Everest with a group of young people as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, a very valid cause. |
The camera was a key part of the equipment that they carried as they had to document the journey and give presentations to sponsors on their return. |
Panasonic have teamed up with Channel Five for a brand new programme called 'How To Take Stunning Pictures', an instructional series offering expert tips and advice for capturing professional-quality images.
The 6 x 30 min series is presented by The Gadget Show’s Suzi Perry and sees the world’s top photographers teach tricks of the trade to amateur snappers. Each programme focuses on a different theme; portrait, action, celebration, landscape, holidays and animals.

I was very impressed with the cheerful, polite and very helpful service we received from the Dorchester store. We also went to an open evening they held there with a demonstration of microwave/combination ovens. Brilliant! We bought one on that evening. It was 9pm when we left and the staff were still smiling - they even carried it to our car for us. Well done Dorchester!

Don't miss this fantastic event at Longleat House, where you'll not only have a great family day out, but you'll get to experiment with one of the most exciting digital cameras on the market. Whether you have a vast knowledge of photography, or you simply like to point and shoot, the Lumix G2 will revolutionise the way you take photographs. If you would like more details please contact Martyn Richards Email : martyn@pana-stores.co.uk |
If you are thinking of visiting Longleat this summer, then why not go on the 24th or 25th of July and combine it with a trial of the new Lumix G2 camera? The Panasonic event will allow you to hire one of the cameras free of charge for a couple of hours to try to capture the best images of the day. Whether your subject is the beautiful landscape surrounding Longleat House, the intriguing animals at the Safari Park, or your family enjoying their day out, don't miss this opportunity to take some great photographs.
A brief demonstration will get you started and inform you of the many exciting features of the Lumix G2, including the camera's touch screen operation, live view LCD screen and Intelligent Auto Mode. Then you'll be supplied with an 2GB SD memory card and be free to take as many pictures as you like. When you've finished with the camera, return it to one of the Lumix experts who will then take copies of your images. You get to keep the memory card and your photographs will be entered into a prize draw. |

Stuart Woolgers - Prologue
Starting in May 2010 I plan to cycle across the USA, from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast, following the Adventure Cycling Association’s 4,262 mile TransAmerica Trail (Trans Am).
The Route page has a map and full description of the trail as it makes it's way through the middle of America. The route deliberately avoids large cities and so gives a taste of the small town America rarely seen by tourists. I plan to camp wherever possible and cook my own food, but inevitably fatigue and the need of a good shower will probably see me staying in a motel once a week. There are also many other accommodation opportunities en route, including fire stations, municipal parks and churches, all of which open their doors to the steady trickle of riders who attempt the Trans Am every year. As I will need to consume around 6000 calories a day stopping off at café's to load up on carbs will be a vital part of my daily routine. I'm sure the Americans love of large portions will make this task easier! |

Sunday May 9th 2010. A very relieved Panasonic Toughbook specialist (and his fiancee) crossing the finish line at South Devon College's Exterminator 10K run. Justin had recently taken advantage of the 36 month warranty and £50 cash-back offer to purchase a DMC-G1. Having seen this photograph, he now wishes he hadn't bought the zoom lens to go with it.

Whilst not a comprehensive review (by their own admission), Consumer Reports have got hold of Samsung’s 46-inch 7000- and 8000-series LCD TVs and compared them with the Panasonic’s 50-inch VT-20 series 1080p plasma. "...based on our preliminary tests, we give the Panasonic the edge. In the 3D mode, its lack of crosstalk and great black levels really made three-dimensional images pop. It also didn’t have any issues with backlight cloudiness, and offered a very wide viewing angle." "But remember that we haven’t completed our final tests, and haven’t seen enough 3D sets to make any judgments about whether plasma or LCD is inherently a better technology for displaying 3D. But we can’t wait to get more sets into our TV Lab." Read the review at blogs.consumerreports.org |
